Day 01: Nairobi – Samburu. Depart Nairobi at 07.30am and drive Northwards to Samburu Game Reserve via Mt. Kenya and past Coffee plantations. Lunch is served and game viewing drive en-route to see the rare reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk and the Somali Ostrich, all of which are rare in other game parks. Day 02: Samburu. Full day spent in Samburu with early morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu Game Reserve, which covers 40 square miles (104 square kilometers). Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya’s giraffe species – the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). This is also where you see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope. Accommodation at Samburu Sopa Lodge. Day 04: Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru. After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru national park via Thompson falls in Nyahururu. Lunch enroute and then afternoon game viewing drives at lake Nakuru national park. http://www.kws.go.ke/lake-nakuru-national-park Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake in the Rift Valley, renowned for its spectacular flamingo population as one of the world’s greatest ornithological spectacles. Although Lake Nakuru is primarily a bird sanctuary, there are a considerable number of animals to be encountered, such as many large game animals such as zebras, elephants and gazelles; this is one of our best chances of seeing rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first place in Kenya selected as a rhino sanctuary. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild’s Giraffes. Accommodation at Chester hotel. Day 05: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara. After breakfast depart for Maasai Mara game reserve, the northern part of the Serengeti and one of Kenya’s most favored game-viewing areas. It is the Africa of the imagination; endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills. Lunch at the camp followed by afternoon game viewing drives. Accommodation at Manyatta camp. Day 06: Masai Mara. Full day game viewing drives. Morning game viewing with drive to the Mara River where you will be able to view  the resident hippos and crocodiles. The Mara is the land of African legend; Lion are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Day 07:Masai Mara. Full day game viewing drives. More game drives in Maasai Mara; Kenya’s most popular game, and opportunities to see herds of elephant, impala, buffalo, giraffe, as well as leopard, cheetah, and lion.
