Safari Highlights : This is a short safari featuring Masai Mara National Reserve – one of the world’s finest wilderness areas. The safari departs Nairobi in the morning and involves a drive down to the floor of the Great Rift Valley, making a stop at view point to see the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the awesome sight of the valley and the features there in. Masai Mara game reserve supports the largest diversity of species in Africa with close visit to homeland of the Masai people, a proud cattle-herding tribe. This is where the sight of a predator in action can never be forgotten. Masai Mara has one of the largest densities of lion in the world and is no wonder this is the home of the BBC wildlife channels Big Cat Diary. You can easily spot Lions, Leopards, Elephant, Cheetahs, Buffalo and numerous other wild animals in their natural habitat as they have existed over the centuries on your safari trail.

Day 01: Nairobi – Masai Mara. Pick up from your hotel at 07:30am and drive to Masai Mara game reserve, the northern part of the Serengeti – Mara ecosystem, and one of Kenya’s most favored game viewing areas. It is the Africa of the imagination; endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills. Lunch at the camp or lodge followed by afternoon game viewing drives. Accommodation at Masai Mara Manyatta camp or lodge.

Day 02: Masai Mara. Full day game viewing drives in this vast, open grasslands of the Serengeti – Mara ecosystem and home to over 3 million large mammals. Sunrise and sundowner provides the greatest moments for game viewing in these mystic plains, a time where the soft red hues of the sun will give your photographs the clarity of the actual African Savannah. Morning game viewing includes drive to the Mara River where you will be able to view the resident hippos and crocodiles.

The Mara is the land of African legend; Lions are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Cheetahs and leopards are also regularly seen, and less commonly the rhino. Several species of Bee-Eater, the flying rainbow that heads the list of the Mara’s birds, is found in the reserve. Late afternoon drive back for dinner and overnight at the Masai Mara Manyatta Camp or Lodge.

Optional visit to Masai Village for a cultural tour can be arranged – $20 per person. Also optional Hot air balloon ride can be arranged this morning, then proceed with your game drive – $430 per person. 

Day 03: Masai Mara – Nairobi. Morning game viewing drives before breakfast. After breakfast drive back to Nairobi to arrive around 16:00pm.
